~One on one yoga poses and practice, looking at alignment and designing a personal practice of yoga and meditation.
~Thai Massage treatment.
~Reiki bodywork treatment in Restorative Yoga poses.
What to expect:
Thai massage is a type of massage from Thailand that involves stretching and deep massage. This form of bodywork is usually performed on the floor, and the client wears comfortable clothes that allow for movement. No oils are used. The receiver is put into many yoga-like positions during the course of the massage. The massage practitioner leans on the recipient’s body using hands, straight forearms and elbows to apply firm rhythmic pressure. The massage generally follows the Sen lines on the body — similar to meridians or Channels of energy (Chinese medicine) and Indian nadis. Legs and feet of the giver can be used to massage the body or limbs of the recipient. In other positions, hands manipulate the body, while the feet do the massaging action.
Reiki and Restorative:
Reiki is a form of hands on energetic healing that is believed to transmit Chi or life force energy to the recipient. Reiki is given in Restorative Yoga poses to bring about increased energy, healing, vitality and clarity. Restorative yoga is yoga practiced in a very relaxed state by using supports such as blocks, blankets and bolsters instead of muscular tension to maintain the pose alignments.
Restorative poses help relieve the effects of chronic stress in several ways:
~The use of props provide a completely supportive environment for total relaxation.
~Each restorative sequence is designed to open and move the body and spine in all directions, revitalizing the nervous system.
~A well-sequenced restorative practice also includes an inverted pose, which reverses the effects of gravity bringing calmness and regeneration.
~Restorative yoga alternately stimulates and soothes the organs. With this movement of blood comes the enhanced exchange of oxygen and waste products, bringing about health and well being.
